A radio call was the most definitive clue for a wildlife siting when we were on safari in Africa. Upon receiving the call, our drivers would scramble to reach the location of the siting before the animals fled the scene. We had to hold onto our hats for a high speed race, on bumpy dirt roads, to spot two lions resting peacefully beside the road on the last day of our Zimbabwe Safari. This worthy chase after a sleepy lion siting was a much different pace than the usual slow, bumpy drives through the reserves. Here, at the zoo, this elegant lion rests comfortably while he talks to us in gentle roars.
